For all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving- may your " each other, family, friends, & / or fun with others" time refresh you as you move forward to the conclusion of 2008 and the beginning of 2009.
We have had some challenging, educational, exciting, frustrating, frightening, life altering, motivational, & provoking events here in America; and that is only in the last three months. where do we go from here? How do those of us who disagree with elections of November learn how to continue to finesse, harness, promote & uphold our beliefs while still working to support this wonderful country in which we live.
How to live with and learn from this latest example of terrorism and support the universal effort to eradicate fanatical actions.& actors. How to drop this 'political correctness' that is a misnomer at best and is a hand-tying at worst. How has identifying abhorrent behaviors become a bad thing.
How has our attention shifted from saving mankind to saving the planet. How have we been so poorly taught that we believe this wonderful 'globe' upon which we have the pleasure to live 'for a moment in time' could be annihilated by such a small entity as "us", when it has existed for eons before we came. No one should intentionally cause havoc to reign down upon this creation of God; would we not serve this same God better by concentrating on the humans upon this earth. With all our false starts, ignorance, poor performances we do have the beauty, conscience, motivation, potential, successes, & wisdom garnered over the centuries to "walk the talk", enabling the deep rooted truths of our existence to 'wake up' the depth of our souls,both individual and collective. We can cause the changes that will reflect the greatness of Our Creator-by what ever Name we call Him.
We, in the service professions, can effect changes in the Home Ownership area that will in turn affect the lives of those who come in contact with us. What a spine tingling thought is that. We are in the position of making our profession one of ethics, helpfulness, honor, information, integrity, insight, manners, & professionalism unsurpassed. This is a great time to be in this Profession. Read the articles written on the 'Shift' within the Business; join with fellow REALTORS who want to move us forward toward being a sought after profession through which clients and agents are personally and monetarily engaged and enlarged. I am so very glad that we decided to not leave this profession when the bottom dropped out of the New Home Construction in MI., & to move back into the resale of treasured houses to those looking to creating a Home.
